Nestled in the heart of the High Country, Harvest Wholefoods Organic Market is more than just a green grocer, it's a living expression of our love for good food, community, and the natural world. Behind the baskets of vibrant produce and nourishing pantry goods are Jane and Ian, the couple who bring soul and purpose to everything we do.
Ian is a prolific songwriter and professional musician (Southern Sky Music) with six albums to his name, recording from his home studio just up the road. When he’s not composing or performing, you’ll find him in the garden, tending to the herbs and vegetables he grows with care and dedication for the store. His deep appreciation for organic farming runs through every part of Harvest.
Jane is a Waldorf-trained educator and pastry chef with a lifelong passion for biodynamic agriculture and sustainable food systems. With a warm heart and discerning eye, she curates our shelves with wholesome, ethically-sourced foods that nourish both people and planet.
Together, Jane and Ian share the joy of raising six children and a granddaughter, who inspire their vision of a healthier, more sustainable future. Out of this vision, they created Harvest Wholefoods Organic Market, the kind of store they themselves wanted to shop in: a place of authenticity, integrity, and community. Here, food is always real, seasonal, and grown with love.

1. Select your own fruit & vegetables
Come in and choose what looks good and what you need for your recipes. Smell the fruit. Feel the weight of the pumpkins. No cling wrap. Just real food, served with a smile - like the good old days.
2. Weekly fruit & veg bags
Each week, we’ll pack a Harvest tote full of the best in-season organic produce for you. It’s an easy way to discover new ingredients, and skip the supermarket. You don’t need to order each time, just sign up once and your bag will be ready weekly, with no lock-in.
3. Place your order to pick up
Prefer full control, but short on time? Place your order by Friday and we’ll pack your selection for Tuesday pickup - exactly what you asked for, ready when you are. We’ll even refill your pantry jars or include household staples while we’re at it. We can even deliver to Mt Buller in winter!

At Harvest, we’re passionate about real food — lovingly grown, thoughtfully made, and simply delicious. Our menu celebrates the best of organic and biodynamic produce from across Victoria, crafted with care in our kitchens.
We make our own granola and muesli using a mix of organic and biodynamic ingredients — a true reflection of our love for clean, honest food. Our organic sourdough crumpets come from Silver Creek Bakery in Beechworth.
Our much-loved Huffkins are baked fresh in-house using biodynamic flour — soft, wholesome, and perfect with a generous spread of organic butter and our smoked salmon and beef pastrami come from Gamze Free Range Smallgoods in Wangaratta, renowned for their ethical, small-batch methods. We proudly use certified organic vegetables and salad greens, all grown locally in Victoria. Our hearty Lemon Lentil Soup, made in-house with all-organic ingredients.
Our sweet treats are equally pure and delicious — the Blueberry Flan features biodynamic eggs, organic almond meal, icing sugar, and butter, with plump certified organic blueberries from the Strathbogie Ranges. Our Baker’s Biscuit, also house-made, is a nostalgic favourite made with biodynamic flour, eggs, organic butter, coconut, sugar, sultanas, and warm spices.
Enjoy an organic cup of tea from Love T, hand-blended near Geelong, or our organic coffee blended and roasted by Silva in the Yarra Valley our coffee is old school with 2 shots and made with biodynamic cow’s milk — always included, with no extra charge for plant milk alternatives.

The country cousin to the bagel
They were originally created by a farmers wife way back in the 1800’s for the farmers and cherry pickers who often came out from London to do the seasonal picking. They were filled with meat, hard cheese and pickles. Lunch was always topped off with a sweetie! … a second Huffkins in their lunch box was perfect for smooshing a few cherries to a syrupy pulp and drizzling it over, then crowning them with a cherry in the top without them rolling off! Served with lashings of butter and a splash of ale if you were lucky.

Whether you’re topping up a tablespoon of cumin or stocking up on 2kg of pasta, you’ll leave with exactly what you came for, feeling good that there’s no plastic waste! We stock a rotating range of organic and high-quality pantry staples, including stoneground and biodynamic flours, brown rice, basmati, quinoa, couscous, pasta, dried lentils, beans, and peas, baking needs like coconut sugar, cacao, and bicarb and spices by the scoop.
1. Refill your own containers
Weigh, fill, weigh again
Bring your clean containers in-store and we’ll weigh them at the counter first.
Then you can fill them yourself just the right amount, no more and no less.
When you're done, we’ll weigh them again at checkout and subtract the container weight. Simple, satisfying, and a little bit fun.
2. We’ll fill them for you
Just drop in your jars or use ours
Don’t have time to hang around? Just drop off your clean, labelled containers, and we’ll fill them with exactly what you’ve asked for.
Whether it’s half a kilo of pasta or just a few teaspoons of turmeric, we’ll have it packed and waiting for you when you return.
3. Use our bags or borrow-a-jar
Forget your jars? No worries.
We have paper bags on hand, or you can borrow from our stash of clean, sanitised jars. We'll help you fill them if you like and you can return them later!
